Monday of the 4th week of Lent
Isaiah 65: 17-21 John 4: 43-54
Theme: “Go your son will live”
The theme for our reflection today, is the assertion of Jesus Christ to the official whose son was sick. Interestingly, the son was restored at that moment that Jesus made that statement. The father of the sick boy trusted Jesus and had faith in him. The good news today is the fact that we are still serving the same God, he has not changed. This is the same words he is saying to all those who need it in their lives. Trust in God, claim it and hope for the best. There is nothing he cannot do, even in situations that are hopeless, humanly speaking, he can turn things around for your good.
Remember, the plan of God for all his children is that we have life in abundance, not that we perish. So, this is not the time for you to despair or lose hope, because of the challenges you are presently going through in your life or in your family. This is rather the time for you to trust in God and take that situation to him in prayer with faith, just like the official in today’s gospel took his son’s situation to him. Do not mind how long you have been struggling with that situation, everything in life has time and season. Just trust God and take it to him again with faith. You never know, this may be the time for your prayer to be answered. Remain steadfast until something happens.
Dear friends in Christ, in the 1st reading of today from the prophet Isaiah, we also see a message of hope, that should strengthen us, just like the Israelites. Remember, it is God speaking to us through his prophet Isaiah. Whatever he says he will do must surely come to pass. He is promising us that things are going to be better than they are right now in our lives. The future is going to be better than the present, and the pains and sorrows we see today as challenges will no longer be there in our lives. He promises to give us peace and a better life. We are all encouraged to trust in God and continue to do our best. The challenges you are currently struggling with in your life or family, is not permanent, it is only a passing phase that will come to an end at some point. We pray that God will continue to give us the necessary support in the challenging situation of our lives, in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit, Amen. Peace be with you.
