Wednesday of the 22nd week in the ordinary time
1 Cor. 3: 1-9 Luke 4: 38-44
Theme: Jesus the healer
In the gospel reading of today, we see Jesus restoring Simon’s mother in-law to good health and all those who came to him for healing. This is the same Jesus that you and I are still worshipping today as Christians, he has not changed. In our own time he is still healing all those who go to him because of their physical and spiritual challenges. The question today is, have you taken that challenge in your life to him for healing and restoration, or you have doubts whether he will do it for you or not? One thing you must always know is that God is always willing and ready to take away our burdens and pains, whenever we go to him with confidence and faith, believing that he can change the narrative of our life and grant our hearts good desires.
Dear friends in Christ, just like all those Jesus restored today to good health, we are all in need of God’s assistance in one way or the other in our lives; why not trust in him and take that challenging situation in your life to him. He is waiting patiently for all those who will come to him with the challenges of their life in faith, and he will show you that he has not stopped relieving his children from their pains and difficulties. Never at any point in your life think that God cannot help you, because you have been praying for some time and you have not gotten result. All you need is to continue to pray until something happens. This will help to sustain you until Gods appointed time for the answer to your prayers. One thing that should continue to strengthen you is the fact that God will never forsake you in your moment of pain and difficulties. He will come to your assistance at the nick of time, when it matters most and is best for you; God never comes late. But we must learn to be patient and trust in God’s process.
Dearly beloved in Christ, in the 1st reading St. Paul invites us to work for the things of the spirit and not that of the flesh. As children of God, we must learn to always trust in the providence of God and give him a chance in everything that concerns our life. We pray that God will always grant us patience in our dealings with him. May almighty God bless you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Peace be with you.
