Wednesday of the 22nd week in ordinary time year A

Colossians 1: 1-8        Luke 4: 38-44

Theme: Jesus the healer

In the gospel reading of today, we see the healing of Peters mother in-law by Jesus. The healing power of Jesus is seen all through the scriptures, as the sick encountered him, they were restored to good health. It is the same Jesus that we are still serving in our own time, he has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is still making use of his healing power in our own time.

The question today is, do you have faith in the healing power of God? If yes, why have you given up on your health, after listening to what the doctors have to say? Even with what they may have told you, you can still trust in God, because you have nothing to lose by having faith in God. You never know Gods plan for you. He may decide to restore you to health, just like he has done for so many people, even in our own time. Always remember that in every situation we find ourselves in life, it is God that have the final say, and until he speaks concerning the issue, anything is possible.

Why not go to Jesus today with your health situation in faith? There is nothing that is beyond God. It may be beyond you and your doctors, but it can never be beyond God. Present that sickness that have brought you pains and sorrows to God today in faith and allow him to show you that he is God. Sometimes we give up so easily, without presenting the situation to God in prayer. When you have done what is humanly possible, then you leave the rest to God. This does not automatically mean that you will be restored to health because you have presented it to God, he will do what is best for you in your situation. The most important thing is to trust in him and allow him to do whatever he wants in your situation.

May almighty God bless you in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit. Amen. Peace be with you.
