Friday of the 34th week in the ordinary time of the year C
Theme: The end time
As we gradually come to the end of the liturgical year, our readings continues to remind us of the importance of being prepared and ready for its coming. This period presents us the opportunity to re-evaluate the way we have lived our life from the beginning. It can be likened to balancing of books for those who are into one business or the other. It will help us to make amends in places that we have not done so well and work hard to do better the other areas that we have failed. This is very important for us as children of God, because our goal is to make heaven at the end of our life here on earth. So, for us to achieve our goal, we must work hard by making the right choices and living a life that is worthy of the name Christian; a life that is good and pleasing to God.
My brothers and sisters in Christ, whatever the situation is at the moment in our lives, we can make a positive decision to change the narrative of our lives; it is never too late for us to retrace our steps and return back to God. This is made easier because we serve a God that is waiting patiently for us to retrace our steps and return back to him, whenever we go astray and away from the path that will lead us to life eternal. That is why, no matter how far you have strayed, the mercy of God is more than enough for you. The most important thing is for us to acknowledge our sins and be remorseful for them, and the mercy of God will locate us.
Dearly beloved in Christ, in our world today we need more men and women who will help to propagate the kingdom of God here on earth, by witnessing with their words and the way they live their lives. This is an invitation to all of us as children of God, we have to continue to support and encourage each other to live a good and holy life that will be pleasing to God and will help us attain salvation at the end of our earthly pilgrimage.
May God grant us the grace to be true ambassadors of Christ wherever we find ourselves, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Peace be with you.
