Saturday of the 26th week in ordinary time year A

Acts 1: 12-14          Luke 1: 26-38

Theme: Pray the rosary

Today the church celebrates the memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary. This feast was established by Pope Pius V in thanksgiving to God for the victory of Christian Europe, at the battle of Lepanto in 1571. The soldiers asked for the help of Mary through the rosary. The power in the rosary has never been in doubt, from generation to generation. That is why many saints, Popes and Christians have wonderful words to say about the rosary. It is a very powerful prayer that has brought triumph and victory to all those who believe in it. As we celebrate our Lady of the rosary today, let us remind ourselves about the blessings that emanates from the holy rosary, according to men and women of faith.

According to Sister Lucia dos Santos (Fatima Seer), “The most Holy  Virgin in these last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the rosary to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families… that cannot be solved by the rosary. There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the rosary.”

According to Pope Saint Piux X, “The Rosary is the most beautiful and the richest in graces of all prayers; it is the prayer that touches most the heart of the mother of God…and if you wish peace to reign in your homes, recite the family, Rosary.”

There are so many wonderful testimonies of the efficaciousness of the rosary, even in our own time and in the lives and families of those who believe in the power of the rosary. These are testimonies that are trustworthy and very reliable. Today we are all encouraged to take the praying of the rosary seriously in our personal life and in our different families. The rosary is so powerful that it has done so many wonderful things for all those who trust and believe in it. As we celebrate our Lady of the holy rosary today, we pray for the grace to be devotees of the rosary henceforth and encourage others to embrace the rosary in their lives, in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit. Amen. Peace be with you.
