Thursday of the 15th week in ordinary time year A

Ex. 3: 13-20     Mat. 11: 28-30

Theme: Jesus invites you

In the gospel reading of today, Jesus gives us an invitation that is too good not to accept. He recognizes the challenges and difficulties that we encounter in our daily lives, and he is inviting us to present them to him and he will take care of them. It is only a good and loving father that will present such a wonderful invitation to his children. Today in our lives as individuals, we are carrying different types of burdens that are weighing down heavily on some of us, Jesus is saying you should bring them all to him and he will give you rest and remove the burden from your shoulders. Theses burdens that Jesus is talking about today, can come in different ways in our lives, for some it could be health challenges, for some it could be set back in their marital lives, for some it could be success to the works of their hands, for some it could be success in academics and so many other challenges that we encounter in our daily lives.

Thus, what will prevent you from accepting this wonderful invitation presented to you today by Jesus? The interesting thing is that we all know that we are dealing with a God who can handle any situation we are presently going through in our lives. Sometimes we allow our fear, doubts, and lack of strong faith to keep us away from accepting Gods invitation for our liberation. something you must always remember is that God is not man, he is always faithful to his promises, and he fulfils them in the lives of all those who trust in him. Why not trust God today and present that challenging situation in your life, that has brought you so much pain and discomfort to God and see how he handles it. Whatever you are going through now can never be beyond our God, humble yourself and go to him in faith and he will show you that he is God.

Also, Jesus is encouraging us to emulate him in our words and actions, and we will find rest for our souls. Remember that the journey through life for Jesus was not a bed of roses, but he was able to go through it and came out victorious. You can also achieve this great fit by trusting in God, being prayerful and living a good life, just like Jesus did during his own time. Remember, Gods process is very important in our journey of life. May the Lord bless his words in our hearts, in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit. Amen. Peace be with you.
